A visual journey of one woman’s path to freedom and self-discovery. Battling depression, Shlomit, a thirty year old woman living in Jerusalem leaves the sheltered life she shares with her loving husband and little daughter. Drifting along the sidelines of Tel-Aviv society, Shlomit learns to bravely face her demons and heal the wounds within by accepting her identity as an artist and creator once and for all. Written and directed by award-winning documentary & experimental filmmaker Macabit Abramson in her first narrative feature film, WOMAN ALIVE is a timely story that challenges us to re-examine the role of women in society as they struggle to balance their home and family life with their dreams of becoming an artist.
